More sex, please; we're bisexuals.

Lots of people here today, so the writing went very slowly.
Gillian had sex with Harold. Felicia talked to him over breakfast. He seems fine, understanding his partners bisexual needs.
Julie is pregnant.

Nephilim's Child

It's been a few chapters since the last sex scene (and that one may well be cut from the final edit anyway) so this was a gentler scene between Gillian and Felicia, a culmination of the allusions earlier in the book. It also sets them up for a big fall, but don't tell them that.

I also added in another Midnight scene, giving a glimpse of the politics behind the murders.

Remote Viewing.

A bizarre little sequence today, with Julie watching through an imp's eyes as he witnesses an angel killing a nephilim. And narrating.

A bit of a plod today. I wasn't really in the mood to write NC so I only managed 1600 words for chapter 34: Gillian's chat with the Lord Azazel. Still he promised a little duplicitous help. He's going to get them a baby dragon.

Slow day

Amongst the noise and the central heating being repaired, I spent all day writing today's target. I didn't even manage any flashes!

Busy non-writing day

I didn't have much time today, so I jumped a chapter and wrote chapter 33, where Lissa kills the other nephilim, Gary Hughes. Only 1300 words, though.

I've left the section of Thursday 6:00PM - 10:00PM until tomorrow or perhaps Monday. Weekends here are so busy. We have 17 for dinner tonight.

Came back from the workshop to write a 250 word flash before the hordes arrived.

A Spell of Sickness

Have you ever wanted to shout at your characters to stop talking and get on with the plot?

I did today. Blah, Blah Blah, they said.

The plot didn't advance until three quarters of the way through the chapter, but Jasfoup mentioned that I can edit out the chatter later. Think of it as an Any Warhol film," he said. "You wouldn't keep all 24 hours of footage, would you?"

Nephilim Draconis

I finished the chapter I started yesterday but not to the point that I'd planned: They went off on another discussion again, this time about the origins of dragons.

I'm having a plotting problem, though. In the original version, Harold used time travel to view the first murder. I'd rather avoid such artifice in this one but am undecided to have Felicia 'remote view' the murder from the mind of the dead or else actually be in the house when a murder occurs

ION a fruitless drive to Sheffield and the playing of a new game.

The Sky is Falling

Too little writing today - only 1100 words (not input on the count meter yet). Why We've changed ISPs. "A seamless transition" they promised.

To give them their due, Plusnet closed at 8:00 AM and Sky was online, albeit intermittently, at 10:00. Not so the Sky Netgear router, which we have to use in place of our trusty Linksys. That damn thing took all day to set up, with several long phone calls to support and me trawling the beb (when we'd got it partially online) for instructions on how to set the firewall exceptions.

So: No chapter today, no flashes, and no update.

Fencing tonight was great, though. Lots of rapier work.

Making Plans

Felicia meets up with Meinwen again, but they argue when Felicia refers to her as a 'mundane'. She thinks it an insult, a term for a lower species but Felicia explains that her kind envy the mundanes for only they can see redemption.

Harold and Jasfoup bicker, even in Felicia's presence. Harold wants a child, even though his partner, Gillian, is a vampire.

It occurs to me that anyone reading these piece would assume me a beiliever in the Christian (or Jewish) God, since my source material tends to be the Old Testament and Apocrypha. I'm not, actually. I just make stories from those as they were made from stories before them.

You know, characters can surprise you. I've been writing Jasfoup through four books and literally hundreds of drabbles and flashes and still he comes up with something totally unexpected. I mean, Felicia the were, fair enough; she's lived in my head for less than a year. Gillian for two years, Julie for three months.

What I was not expecting when I began writing this morning, was for Felicia to walk in on her sister Julia and Jasfoup (who I swear was gay) to be shagging.

Of course, there will be the patter of tiny hooves later but I've had to alter part of the plot to take this into account.

I also wrote another 4 shorts and flashes. Mondays are busy days.

Sex and Sensibilities.

I got the sex scene in at last, and it was the most disgusting, depraved piece I've ever written. Two weres having sex over the corpse of a man they've just killed.

It was certainly interesting, and it made the wyves hot, so perhaps it'll stay in.

ION Evil Editor wasn't keen on the excerpt I sent him yesterday, and his other readers even less so.

Eating Habits

Gillian asks Felicia if she fancies her. Felicia does, but not after she's had sex with Harold. They discuss hunting and Gillian demonstrates how she rarely kills when feeding.

Felicia and Jenna have other ideas, though, and rip a man apart, then have sex over the corpse.

Triage and Take-Aways

Ever get the feeling that it's the characters dictating the story to you? Actually I've said all along that I was merely Jasfoup's chronicler - that's what the other blog is called - but never have I had it so clearly demonstrated as today.

I intended to write Chapter 25 as a sex scene - I haven't had one since chapter 2 so it's well overdue - between Felicia and either Gillian or Jenna (or both) but do I get the chance? No! Gillian insists on showing me in graphic detail the use of the electric drill on Felicia, then they all discuss the use of magic in the world, and that Julie shouldn't be able to do after 24 hours of reading a book what all the wizards of Chippenham couldn't do after fifty years of practice.

How does she do it? Well, my jaw was on the floor when they told me.
And very slightly squicked, too. You think vampires are socially unacceptable in their dining habits? You ought to see this babe in action.

Fights and Triage

Felicia and Jenna once more fight the Seraph Raphael. The don't win, but any fight against an angel that doesn't end in death is cause for celebration, even if the triage afterwards involves an electric drill and a 25mm masonry bit.

A day off today.
It was a Leather Family outing to the beach.

Action of the Dance Floor

Only 1.2K today, but it was enough to finish chapter 23 on a cliffhanger. Felicia meets her sire for the first time since she was infected with the were virus and she is Not Happy. They fight, of course.

A little of chapter 24 written as well, and a few flash stories.

Cold enough to freeze your tail.

I was very slow indeed today. It again took me until 6:00 to get just 2K onto paper. Felicia explores her new world and the mechanics of magic. The energy required to shapeshift must come from somewhere.. it's eating away at her body mass.

Word Fail Me

Despite having the whole house to myself today (wyves out at John's Mum's 80th birthday meal, Pat and Sue at Ikea, Aimee out on her bike, Daughter at her sister's) I wrote bugger all. Well I managed 1000 words, but that wasn't enough to satisfy me.

I did manage another couple of hundred of a later chapter, where Harold explains what a light saber is (no it doesn't go whummmm whummmm unless you cut the electricity cables)

I dropped off the meter for Chill of the Road, since I'm not writing it again until I finish Nephilim's Child.

No writing, lots of fun.

Not strictly true. I wrote 220 words of the climactic battle (that's 30 chapters away yet) before heading out this morning. My monthly swording class went very well indeed, and now my head is filled with the sound of cutlasses.

Slow Day.

Lots of company today meant that I was very slow on the writing front and it took me until after 5:00 to get the words down. Still, that's chapter 20 done and dusted. Not much happened though; just necessary things to progress the story.

Bad news later, though. The agent I was writing it for didn't want it. She liked it, but not what they were looking for. They wanted ANGST. PAIN. SORROW. WHAT AM I HERE FOR?

I don't do angst.

However, she did say that she liked my writing, so feel free to send her anything else. I took her up on the offer and sent "An Ungodly Child" (100K complete and edited already). It was the first appearance of Harold and Jasfoup, and a quite funny, in an English Humour way.

She's bound to reject it -no angst - but it's worth a shot.

The Colour of Magic

Actually it's a hue. As I've said before on non-fiction posts, there is no black magic or white; the hue come from the intent of the magician.

What's that got to do with the Jasfoup gang? I nearly said Scoobies but that was done to death on Buffy. I never did get around to watching the last couple of seasons of that.

Julie has become a mage, Yes the missing tribe of Nephilim is mages, and not giants at all. That was a red herring, or perhaps a edit in the making. Probably the latter, I think *nods* Yea, there were SEVEN tribes of the Nephilim, not six after all. Seven sounds better anyway.

Felicia has, in today's chapter, been exasperated by a registrar, educated by an imp and angered by the childish pranks of a demon. It' been a daytime chapter so no vampires. I really must let Felicia and Gillian have sex soon.

2300 words and a couple on non-WIP flashes.

A productive day and a new twist!

I didn't know that Harold had a book in his shop that he couldn't translate. It seems, however, that Julie can read it, even though she's blind. It's written in the tongue of ghosts that she can see with her second sight.

In other News, Felicia has an insight into what it is to be a vampire and bever see the sun. For the first time she sees her were nature as a blessing.

2100 words again today.

Mothers of the Dead

What do you say when your mother's dead but there's no body because it's been destroyed by an angel? Felicia doesn't know either, so she says 'house fire'. She didn't get to say goodbye (though Julie, her sister, said 'good riddance') but that's alright, because Jasfoup (the demon) has explained to her that her mother will become a devil (after the prerequisite training program) and she say say goodbye then.

And probably 'hello'

And 'bugger!'

Writing went well today, if a little slowly. It took me until 6:00 to get chapter 18 down, 2100 words in total.

The Children of Cain

A good writing day today in a single scene expanding upon the origin of the six tribes of the Nephilim. But was is the sixth tribe?

"Giants," said Jasfoup. "All gone now, thanks to the flood."

But are they? What of the non-human offspring of angels? What if one of the sixth tribe was not descended from a human at all but from a lizard.

Nothing to do with the dreadful Buck Rogers series, either.

A little better today. An hour's editing of yesterday's chapter has tweaked it to my satisfaction, and today's chapter has solidified it to a conclusion.

Adding both chapters to the word count now.

A bit of an odd day today.

Lots of people in the house. Due to various familial upsets the London trip was put off until tomorrow, so everyone was in the house today.

It was difficult to write, and I suspect that when I read back the 1.7K that I wrote tomorrow it will be a pile of shite. We'll see. If it is a load of donkey droppings I'll have to re-write those scenes anyway, so no additional wordcount today, just in case I delete them tomorrow.

The Nature of Nephilim

It took me a long time to write 2K today. I didn't manage to completer until after 4:00. Of course I was distracted by swords and sword use and selling on of my spare practical rapiers but still...

Gillian discovers that Mr. Jasfoup is a demon, the rat from Chapter one is actually an imp called Devious, and that Gillian has some sort of relationship with Harold. How odd.

I also wrote a fight scene between Felicia and Gillian for chapter 15.

What fun.

The wyves and co. are going to London for the weekend. That should give me a little peace to write in, apart from the daughter and nephew, who need to be ferried about all day.
